Disproving Odin - An Experiment in arguing with a theist with Theist logic

Gotta love that argument:

"My god (Yahweh/Jehovah) is a necessary being. Your god (Odin) is not a necessary being."
"Why?"
"Because I said so..... And because my other arguments would not be valid any other way."

Your point is invalidated by reason, not ridicule.

Right.

Ridicule is for our amusement.

@ Teresa Yeah, Neo came in with that "Odin isn't necessary" bullshit then bolted.

I would love to see Odin disproved. Of course, not all theists make the claim that other gods can be disproven, but any who do... yeah, come on down.

Really there's no such thing as a "necessary being". There is no person anywhere in the universe who absolutely must exist, whose existence is absolutely required. All of us are optional. While I am still on the fence as to the existence of the divine, science has explained the existence of the universe without divine intervention, therefore, whether there is a God or not, it is not absolutely essential that he must exist.

But you know ... God is "maximally great" ... but only in specific ways defined by Christian philosophers like Alvin Plantinga. Therefore, God is necessary and possible ... and true! Therefore, JESUS!

No one can top such logic, no one!
