47 days (!!!) without a poo, OMFG . . . .

I doubt this story. A week or so without a poo results in a bowel obstruction. You produce poo even without out eating. All that bile and intestinal fluid has to go somewhere. As you may know, I am a registered nurse. This is something I have witnessed numerous times: If you don't poop you will vomit. You will vomit poop! Yup, you will vomit poop! If you cannot poop after you begin vomiting poop , surgery and possible bowel resection may be needed.
God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!

I agree, it sounds like the Miami Herald is looking for attention.  The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
