I remember going to PTA sponsored soup and sandwich fund raisers in the school gym. Green jello with cottage cheese in it was a frequent salad, although I'm sure various flavors of jello with shredded carrots, olives, lima beans and yes, even spam were served.

We ate them along with our grilled cheese sandwiches and cream of tomato soup.


Blech and goddam my memory still recalling these horrors from 55 years ago . . .
