Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth; a likeness of His light is as a niche in which is a lamp, the lamp is in a glass, (and) the glass is as it were a brightly shining star, lit from a blessed olive-tree, neither eastern nor western, the oil whereof almost gives light though fire touch it not-- light upon light-- Allah guides to His light whom He pleases, and Allah sets forth parables for men, and Allah is Cognizant of all things.[24:35]

Is making your writing unnecessarily small part of the proof? Because your text size is about as relevant as your magic book.

The moral argument is a very good argument. Many philosophers argue by it. There was a thread where Catholic_Lady showed a professor in a video doing it justice, and she defended it quite well.

I'm just show various forms of it phrased in Quran.

I will show the vision/witness argument.

I will show also other arguments, that you guys aren't use to, but some from my Deist days... are found there too.

These arguments have been discussed to death here on these forums. I'm just showing they are in Quran.

This is a verbal masturbation.

I don't believe money and career and religion go together. They should be separate task of every human.

I meant that it's easy to preach. Being hardworking and generous to promote your religion is f hard.

What argument? Where? Could you at least direct us to the premises that supposedly reach the conclusion?

Because, last I checked, random quotes from scripture don't logically entail the existence of God or, indeed anything else besides the existence of the quotes themselves.

I meant that it's easy to preach, but to actually to work extremely hard to show the productivity, charity, passion of your religious path is a miracle, because it's a hell to accomplish it. It's really easy to preach.

Inshallah God will show me the path and give me the power to walk it.

I'm just showing the arguments I have used for God are in Quran.

I don't know if that is preaching.

We have had the debates in the past.  The elaboration is in Quran if you are interested.

It elaborates what it summarizes and summarizes what it elaborates.

Well you could start by making it into an argument.

Please. No.

The Quran doesn't even fucking have any arguments, nor does it even try to. OH MY FUCK. At least know your own goddamn book, MK. I know it doesn't contain any arguments and I haven't even read it!

I've done that countless times, this thread is just to show the arguments I have made are all there in the Quran.

If you want to know the context and details, you are welcome to read the Quran.

1. It's a terrible argument. 2. A professor of theology making an argument is different to quoting random crap from scripture. 3. You haven't presented any argument at all. 4. No she didn't. CL herself believes atheists can be good people so for her to make any sort of failed argument that a God is necessary for morality, is just silly. I take it that she believes that the only reason why atheists can be good is because God DOES exist in this universe, according to her, but there's absolutely no evidence of that so..... where's the argument if it all depends on false premises that go completely against the evidence?

Quote:I'm just show various forms of it phrased in Quran.

It isn't in the Quran, or even the Bible. You actually have to try and make an argument starting with premises from what you find in scripture. You can't just randomly quote scripture.

And then we can laugh both at the non-sequiturs AND the fact your premises start from a magic book. It's great.

Also, notice that many of the moral arguments from theologians, like other arguments from God from theologians, actually argue for a deist God.... a God of any sort. And the definition of God is so vague so as to prove absolutely nothing. It's like essentially arguing for a first cause. Well, many atheists argue for a first cause, even myself....

And the idea that any sort of God is required for morality is just wank. On average atheists are statistically more moral people than theists, so go figure.

RE: Arguments for God in Quran.
It didn't start from Quran for me. I was a Deist, and knew these arguments through reflecting. I then found them in Quran which intrigued me because it's brought out better there.

I began to look at the arguments against Deism, and found it had sound arguments against Deism.

By the way that verse provides the best way to present the moral argument. Instead using the word morality, it uses guidance and says guidance is from God. That way we don't get into this relativism and what not debate nor discuss what it is, it clarifies it and summarizes it and brings in a very eloquent manner.

And then the verse of God is the light, is absolutely beautiful. Presents the moral argument and makes you perceive it to be true beyond doubt.
