Yes, but hanging around like minded people DOES NOT  nor ever should be so dogmatic that you cant see those outside as being as human as you. YOU JUST DID IT by liking a poem not written by a Muslim.

I hang out here because I can relate to atheists, but that does NOT mean I agree with every atheist. Just like you and Atlass are both Muslim but don't agree on everything.

Even with YOUR poem, I RELATED to the empathy, even though I didn't agree with where you think that empathy came from. I'D argue the same thing with Catholic Lady if she wrote the poem instead of you.

POINT IS and always has been for me, WE ARE ALL HUMAN, clubs and labels even the word "atheist" will NOT make one better than the other. It only means we hold different positions. The only good argument that can be had is who can prove the data universally.

You are NOT going to play the "I DONT FIT IN" or "I am an oddball" card with me. I lived like that, I made myself miserable and made myself a doormat.

Just because I do not like your religious claims, DOES NOT mean we cant find common empathy, YOU ALREADY did that with Losty.

I may rake your claims over the coals, but we don't hate you. If this website did, you would have been kicked the first day. Treat everyone here as individuals.

And if you want to find the truth of the religions of the world STUDY THEM, the internet makes that quite easy. And you don't have to have pay tons to do that.

Thanks Vulcan. But I been too condenscending on these forums.

I am looking at my tone, and how it's changed over the years.

Going back to school and doing well, was no reason to change that tone, and look down upon people here.

But you guys aren't the ones to do it.

This is the exact oposite of a rational reason to believe.

You should be disbelieving until the claim meets its burden of proof, not believing until the claim is proven wrong. Your method of believing until it is proven wrong, can lead to all sorts of of unsupported and contradictory beliefs.

For example, do you believe in: bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster, leprechauns, alien abductions, etc, etc, until they are disproven? I'll bet not.

Quote:You can't. You are too afraid to go my layer of understanding and solve it if it's wrong,  you won't go that deep, so if I am wrong, it won't be you to do it.

Your arguments have been provably shown to be fallacious.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

I think I have an obsession with God and religion to the extent he doesn't even approve of it, to be honest.

BINGO, yes.......

YES YES YES, just like far too many have an obsession with Yahweh or Jesus or gambling or heroine.

The problem is you don't want to consider that you don't need Allah's approval to think for yourself anymore than Hindus need Vishnu to think for themselves.

"Belonging" isn't about conforming or following. It is about SELF ACCEPTANCE. Not what others tell you t think, If you are going to tell Losty to be herself, then DO THAT YOURSELF.

THEN and only then, will you value yourself, regardless if you keep or leave a position.

I still to this day will tell Catholic Lady the same thing I tell you, THERE IS NO GOD. But when she responds, she doesn't flip out like I want her dead, nor does she argue like she is a victim if I challenge her.YOU are not a victim, nor are you in enemy territory. You are simply in a moment in time where you are confused as to which way to go.

THAT IS NORMAL when you look in the mirror at your own logic and realize it wasn't what you expected.

I don't get it to be honest. Catholic_Lady and I both believe in God. Neoscholastic does as well. And everyone thinks we got the right perspective. Theists of all type.

I have to compare other religions but I haven't studied much.

I been a hypocrite.

If we know God exists, why are we so slow in uniting on his true religion (us Theists).

It seems we choose the type of God due to our upbringing.

And if he is the most being worthy of our love, we ought to make sure to get right perspective about him.

Getting close. VERY CLOSE.

How about considering this? Your life will still have ups and downs, good things and bad things WILL happen no matter what, just as they do to everyone do varying degrees, but no magic or God or religion is required do live life.

Point is, every human goes through shit, some more than others. But funny how no matter the label, the ride always ends. Some are more lucky, some have it harder, but no matter our skin tone, no matter the nation, no matter the religion or god belief, the ride ALWAYS ENDS, EVEN  for atheists.

Maybe the key isn't to dwell on belonging to a "creed" as much as it is valuing facts, and empathy and non violence?

It isn't that you choose the God of your upbringing, it is that you buy it in your youth before you have a chance to formulate adult critical thinking skills. MOST HUMANS, no matter the label, Islam, Christian, Jew, Hindu or Buddhist, get sold the religion of their PARENTS prior to having an adult brain.

No no no no, that is the problem with ALL RELIGIONS, wars are fought, even under the same umbrella label between the sects of EVEN the same religions as to what the "right perspective". THAT is where politics gets fucked up and wars start, because all the different sects of all the different religions and even the same sub sects of the same religion cant agree.

I'd argue we are ALL HUMAN in the end.

Reading that thread from "you in the past" was enlightening. You were much more open minded in that thread. That's a good place to be. It means that you are capable of taking the other person's perspective into account. Your beliefs don't need to change for you to be open minded. You can be an open minded theist. In fact, why don't you try putting on that hat for a while. I think it suits you.
