Socialized medicine is just one part of those social programs Europeans get to enjoy because they sit back and let the American taxpayers fund their protection.

American consumers pay full price either directly, or indirectly through private insurance, to fund the develop of new drugs. Then those drugs are sold at heavily discounted prices to countries with socialized medicine. That's just part of capitalism too...drug companies giving bulk prices. I'm okay with that. But what irks me is that people in those same countries with their beloved socialized medicine wouldn't even have access to those drugs if it weren't for the US system of private health insurance and yet they have the gall to criticize our system which basically subsidizes theirs.

You do realize it's a good thing for cheaper medication.... It's like with aids medication and the epi-pen those life-saving medications were made more expensive here in the U.S. Meanwhile Canada pays way less for medications here because they bargain with companies to pay less and the same should be done here. Thousands of children in the U.S. and no insurance but they have access to it. You cannot defend the access to insurance because the problem with the access argument is the affordability and if someone can't afford it they have no access the access to affordable healthcare is a joke. Oh and the best part about that is the mandate for affordable healthcare... you get punished and pay a fine for not having healthcare...

Thing is we're buying more tanks and guns and bombs then we can hope to use. This is because the defense contractors lobby our politicians big time.
That's just a waste all around, except for the defense contractors.

The drugs are not sold at "heavily discounted prices" they are sold at the correct prices. What you have in America is a system where people charge lots of money for drugs that can be cheaply made and the research has long been paid for.

Your health care system in no way subsidises ours it is just the worlds worst, made for the sake of scamming ill people and you seem ok with that.
