That's true.  There are other hypothesis as well but the Big Bang is widely accepted among scientists.  He was able to perform a calculation and the math added up to infinity from my understanding.  So if it is true, it means the universe literally came from nothing.

Have a read up on how plant life was able to evolve more rapidly than animal life, and join the dots from there.

I'm not talking about how plant life evolved and you know it strawman. I am saying that even the existence of food on this planet at all- (food that tastes good, provides nutrients and energy, keeps us alive and gives us pleasure) food for evey bird, fish, insect -for all 8.7 million different species of life cannot be written off to luck or chance.
