Mississippi Baptist Medical Center employee fired over racial slur

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV)-- A Mississippi Baptist Medical Center employee has been fired after video surfaced of him using a racial slur off-duty.
The video was taken Saturday at a donut shop in Flowood.
The hospital says Kyle Thomas worked in radiology.
The hospital spokesperson sent us this statement:
"We are aware of the confrontation captured on video involving one of our off duty employees at a local donut shop. We take this situation very seriously.  This employee's language and behavior does not represent our organization's values and his employment has been terminated.

A former Shaler man who pretended to be missing Duquesne University student Dakota James in harassing a former neighbor whom he hated was sentenced to 30 months in prison Tuesday after an all-day hearing Monday that exposed his history of harassment of blacks, Jews and homosexuals.
Nathaniel Earl Dunlap, 30, of Clover, S.C., had pleaded guilty last year to a count of interstate stalking and accepted responsibility for two other similar counts.
Dunlap used the online ordering systems of restaurants to send prank messages intended to harass Linda Walter, his ex-neighbor when he lived in Shaler, apparently because he believed she had a black friend.
