Krakatoa wouldn't be the only volcano capable, and multiple volcano 'debris' rafts at thousands of year intervals wouldn't be ruled out.
 The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

A lower sea level would have reduced the amount at-sea time needed. The archipelago would have had few, and larger, islands. I would have no trouble believing a rhino could swim between the islands. (This wouldn't rule out an initial lengthy trip by water to get there, of course.)
