Obviously, what I'm saying is none are needed for obvious reasons... God seems to be the only mythological exception.
I'm sure if some wise guy can figure out how to make a buck off unicorns, they will!

I can do that. For my troubles, I have added a "fuck all polls" option.

Do you want to set a limit for how many options can a person select?

I'm just here because I like the people too.
I also get to hear about American issues firsthand, I like that.
I'm also here to hang out with smart people.
I listen to their sciency stuff and then I regurgitate it to friends to appear smart also. :-)

RE: Our Role(s) as Atheists on an Atheist Forum.
The reason I’m here is because I wanted to learn to communicate rationalism. I watched those Dawkins videos and thought that I wanted to learn to communicate with people like that. And I also came for goofing around. And although I did learn some stuff about communication the goofing part did not come to fruition.
Few years ago I found a perfect forum where we all goofed around so much that it was like a heaven or second home for me. I mean it was so crazy that they promoted me to be a moderator and I wasn’t even a member for two whole weeks. And what I would do as moderator was when one of those people joined to sell shit from China I would change their posts to go like “Hire me, I eat used condoms and eat vomit on parties. I even eat condoms affected with AIDS” and similar and it was efficient because we would not ban those people rather they would just give up. But then after few years the forum got shut down because it was hosted on “forumer” and one day “forumer” just shut down all forums, without any announcement, to “move” them to “yuku” and when it finally came to yuku the forum was a blank, everything was erased so people just didn’t feel like coming back anymore.
So for few years I was looking for new place to goof around and then I joined “Red Letter Media” forum where I started a topic on then upcoming movie “Noah” and trashed it saying that it will most probably suck ass because it is from the Bible and bible stories are corny and one guy got so offended that he started attacking me personally saying that I am “the worst of the atheists” so I thought maybe I could try and join an atheist forum.
An like I said not much goofing but I did stay to learn to communicate rationalism.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I'm here thru dumb luck. An accident while searching for the origin of the "polygraphs state atheists are liars" bullshit story a theist told at a gathering.

Then the endorphins kicked in and,.......well,...........you're stuck with me.

Fuckin addicts!
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

I came here because I felt lonely surrounded by religious people and I needed to blow off some steam and grow into my new atheist skin. Now I’m just here because I love you bunch of nerds. From the bottom of my internety heart.

I get the feeling that everyone worth staying here and stays here for a long time changes their original reason for being here.

So CL passes on that one.

Minimalist doesn't lol.

Same here unfortunately lol.

You're awesome, Cecelia, one of my favorite posters I just wish I saw you around more often!
