I tend to agree, although I've done it before when I just had like a cold, and it helped. But, sore throats? Fevers? I think it's best to rest up and let your body heal.

As far as the royals, lol that’s funny. What do you mean by parasites in their case?

Just about a tablespoon of peroxide. Use something like ChapStick on your lips inside and out to keep it from stinging. Then gargle as long as you can stand it. Then rinse thoroughly with a saline solution. I use Ricola afterwards for the pain of the sore throat (not from the gargles). It is one inhospitable environment for the little buggers.

The royal dynasty was established a long time ago, and the only claim that the current royals have is that they inherited it. Most of what they do is ceremonial in nature. AFAIAC, it's little different from the Vatican, what with all the money and precious artifacts locked away from the rest of the world.

I'll have to try that remedy, although putting peroxide into my mouth scares me a bit.   Blush

I see what you're saying about the royal family. Maybe if I were a Brit, I'd think differently. It might just be some type of cultural tradition for them.

It's only 3%, not the reagent grade stuff that the rocket scientists use. Tongue It also works great on removing bacteria at the gum line, reducing gingivitis.

I'll let the People from the UK weigh in on their opinions. They're all over the map on the issue of the royals.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

I suck on a poultice made of hackberry, mustard greens and slippery elm.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

I'm not sucking on that.  Dodgy

Ran across a really interesting article (I thought so, anyways) talking about how spirituality doesn't need to be relegated by faith. And how faith is not necessary to calling one's self ...spiritual. You don't have to believe in the supernatural, or higher power, to be considered...spiritual. I find the idea of naturalism to be pretty cool, in general. Thought this was worth posting, I'd be curious as to your thoughts.

Interesting idea to base spirituality on knowing that you can't and will never know the answers, rather than answers that haven't been proven. The article reminds me a little of Sam Harris' "Waking Up." But he focuses on mindfulness meditation which I find to be quite difficult. Meditation of a much simpler variety I used to be pretty good at. The overarching idea of his book was that you can eventually experience a oneness, like some get from using....IIRC LSD, through meditation.

Good points. I like meditation, in all forms, really. It's so helpful to just tune out life around you for a while, if nothing else, doesn't even have to be that in depth. It just helps to hear your own voice once in a while, which isn't always easy in a world saturated with social media, friends, family, etc telling us how to be. Sam Harris is kinda cool, I need to read his thoughts on mindfulness meditation.

Not playing.  Angel

Random thoughts for this May 22

1. I hate airports. I could never work in one. Flying, I like. Airports, not so much.

2. Love vegan makeup products, and I’m a big advocate of cruelty free cosmetics.

3. I’m kinda liking the rain lately, it’s like nature in a depressed state or something.

4. Not into most books and movies that critics rave over. I usually love the worst movies with the worst ratings. What could this mean?  Huh [Image: clear.png]

5. I’m planning to learn how to speak Arabic. Since finding out that I’m part middle eastern, I think it’d be cool.

6. I’m very social but not gonna lie...love being alone, too. It’s important.

7. Think I’m going to paint my nails sky blue tonight.

8. Love to sleep in on weekends.

9. I love hot stone massages. I want one so much!

10. I love time with friends, those who truly get me.

11. I don’t trust easily but when I become someone’s friend, I’ll always be there for him/her.

RE: Deidre's Ramblings
Soon to be Friday, May 25

I'm taking the day off, and intending on enjoying a wonderful four days away from work. I really like my work, but SO looking forward to some time off. Even if it's only a few days.

Tomorrow, I plan to sleep in, wake up when I want. My husband will be at work, so the day will be all mine. I'm going to work out fasted. Not sure if you've ever tried that before, but it's good to change up your workouts now and then. Then, going to meet a friend for brunch at this amazing healthy/organic restaurant in town, that has to die for chia seed pudding made with coconut milk, and fresh fruit...wheatgrass shots...and egg white omelettes. The best in town, if you ask me.

After that, need to part ways with my friend, and get some errands done. Then, I'm going to clean, and do some laundry, so the weekend will be completely free for the hubs and I to enjoy without annoying chores and distractions. I feel like two days is never quite enough for the weekend, because you're always needing to get stuff done you couldn't do or wouldn't do, during the week, but...you also want to play and have fun. It's a hard balance sometimes.

I would like to head to the mall and window shop...maybe buy a new pair of heels for work. Hoping for some decent Memorial Day sales.
