We know Kit! We're not stupid.
Homosexuals are a natural part of evolution and thus have been around a very long time. [EDIT] No ...wait! I was thinking of something else...please ignore!

I don't follow sports at all, so only have seen the kneeling on the news. They have every right to protest, and presnit cheeto von tweeto can just go do deep knee bends on a fire hydrant (without lube), as far as I am concerned.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
When I saw this wasn't on A69 I figured it would probably be safe.
But the arguments that these athletes are unpatriotic is beyond stupid. Calling for your country to get better is the height of patriotism.
It is strange that exercising your first amendment rights can be considered unpatriotic. What's the benefit to patriotism, then?

I can't believe people are actually in favor of forcing other people to stand for the anthem, forced patriotism seems like an oxymoron.

Well, look at who voted for cheeto von tweeto. BTW, just an acknowledgement to Divinity, who came up with that moniker in a thread I started. I'll even use that sobriquet in the op-ed pages in the local paper. Harr!

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Definitely an oxymoron. (but let me stir the pot a little)
Is this sort of the same as not rising to a judge in court? Because it's a fact here that whether you do or don't will impact your sentence. And half of these dimwits are pleading innocent! You either respect the laws of the country you're in or you don't? Don't send the judge mixed messages! Why draw the line there? Must we remain silent for a minute on Anzac day if we're against war? Must we stand for the national anthem if we don't like some of the nations policies? I feel some things need to be respected in good spirit. If the spirit isn't felt, why try to turn it into a legal matter? Do free democratic governments think they can force us to think a certain way? When has that ever worked?
