If he had the ability to perceive that the superficial meaning of words he heard or read may not have been intended to reflect the writer’s true view of reality, but to serve instead a different purpose at his expense, then he might have saved himself from Christianity rather than have dedicate his otherwise salvageable existence to making a fool of himself in the infantile hopes of being “saved”, presumably from intellectual post adulescence.
