Become an open atheist, and see how much you support freedom of discrimination.

Discrimination is the reason I'm not open about it. Being open would make me poorer, but it wouldn't change my views on this subject one bit so have a nice day.

One of those fake it till you make it types, huh?  Wink

-and, btw, good for you, you do you...the rest of us don;t have to debase ourselves just because you;re willing to do so, or accept a system that allows this, ofc.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The latter, as the courts have already decided..is patently frivolous.

IMO, if this is what christianity is reduced to, if equality under law really is an existential threat to your faith in whatever it is you believe in...then christianity should just pack it up and quit.  It;s as dead and soulless as anything could be.

You're standing here bitching about the anti-religious bigotry of a fucking protestant who suiggested that people should stop using their religions to hurt people as if that isn;t the desperate rambling of a loon whose lost his purchase on society.

-and christ wept.

Then you should understand the problem.  Maybe, just maybe, advocate for a system that gets us as close to 100% free of discrimination as possible..rather than carry water for discriminatory justifications?

You;ve had to keep who you are close to the vest to get promotions.  They would have had to do the same to buy a fuckin cake..and hey, you could both go elsewhere...but should you have to?  Your plight -is- the same.  A violation of one persons civil rights..in any way, is a violation of everyones civil rights.  We won;t get closer to that magical 100% until we all fully realize and appreciate this.

You're the one who's bitching and rambling. You're disappointed and butt hurt because the Supreme Court sided with the Baker instead of siding with the anti-Christian bigots in Colorado's farce civil rights commission and with the lower courts. Didn't happen the way you wanted because the bigots on your side of the fence got slapped down this time.

Does that answer your question, Jorg, lol?

Look, A, if you think that being pro civil rights is being anti-christian..who I am to argue, it;s your stupid religion, do it your way. Personally, Imma continue doing 'murica my way, with our farce of civil rights and all. I don;t personally take issue with the ruling, but then again I don;lt have a fairy tale version of the ruling in mind to take issue with. I think that guilty people -should- be able to get off on a technicality. Makes it harder for the guv;mint to railroad people. Better 100 guilty go free than a single innocent imprisoned, and all that. Like I said, this is your own personal OJ moment. If you couldn;t understand those people™ before...well..now you;re one of them.

How does that make you feel? Wanna share?

There was no blow to gay rights as some here were crying about. Everything still remains the same as it did before the SCOTUS ruling in the Baker Caper. The message I see is that the Supreme Court told state and other governing bodies that they can't inject their prejudices into their decisions and that everyone is guaranteed equal protection under the law. SCOTUS determined that the Christian Baker didn't receive fair treatment because a couple of Colorado's civil rights commission administrators made hostile and disparaging remarks about his Christian faith. In the eyes of the SCOTUS they openly displayed an anti-Christian bias.

Further evidence that the christian faith should pack it up and quit.  Saying that people should stop using their religion to hurt people....is anti-christian.

-According to the supreme court.

I would agree that the decision is an example of SCOTUS disapproving of anti-Christian bigotry in the CCRC, but that isn't the same thing as siding with the baker in anything but that narrow matter. In that, I don't think your description of the decision is accurate. Do you believe that the court should have or could have ruled in favor of the baker on the more general question of whether his refusal should have been exempted from the public accommodation law?

The way I see it, K, you're not pro civil rights, and I believe that you did take issue with it. True advocates of civil rights don't pick and choose who gets equal protection under the law. Colorado's farce civil rights commission showed the same hostility toward the Baker's Christian faith as you do and got slapped down for it by the Supreme Court.

The courts not allowed to call em like they are...thats a quirk of our system.....I, otoh, can do that all day long.

I keep telling you that if bigotry is a feature..rather than a bug of your christian faith..and that if a person being prevented from infringing upon the civil rights of others is an existential threat to that faith..then so be it.  This is hardly a denial of my assessment of that faith..even if the courts aren;t permitted to say as much out loud.

They;re not allowed to call OJ guilty, either, lol.
