I agree, that you cannot discriminate based on sexual preference. I also don’t think that you can discriminate based on political views. I do think that you should not be forced to work on something that goes against your conscience.

Well generally Political views are not a protected class under discrimination laws, there are some state and local laws that include political affiliation but I think it's rare. Nobody is forcing anyone to work on anything against their conscience, discrimination laws are in place to ensure equal access to goods and services. Businesses can refuse service for whole hell of a lot more things then they can't, people seem to want to frame this as business owners being told to offer something they don't offer.

Bolded mine.  Well, you can do that.  Political views are not a class or group of people.

They are a group of people FYI. And in many things, you are not allowed to discriminate because of politics, such as employment. If the list changes, is it ok to discriminate then? What is the difference; or isn’t this about reason, but rather blindly following the rules.

I'm not sure what you're implying.

Not implying anything, just being a bit sarcastic.

This is about not discriminating against people simply for who they are.  We've seen what happens if people are allowed to discriminate based on inherent traits like race, age, sex, orientation.  It quickly becomes a shitty situation for everyone in that group - they get punished simply for existing as they are.  It's about compassion and empathy you dingleberry.  It's like you're purposefully misreading what's going on and what the intent of these laws is.

It would be -legal-...whether or not it;s okay..well..you tell me....because that is what the christian right is looking for, is it not?  A change to the rules so that it's legal..even if it is still dirty bigoted shit.

What they want, is the "unless they;re queer" exemption to the constitution and civil rights.

I know there's a different discussion being had here right now but my basic question with this ruling is this:

How is a "gay" wedding cake sufficiently different than a "straight" wedding cake such that it affect the baker's decorating ability? For example, a couple comes in wanting a white wedding cake with a cascade of sugar flowers in golds, yellows and violets. How does whether the couple is gay or straight affect the baker's ability to artfully arrange sugar flowers? Where in the creative process of designing that cake does the gender of the people getting married affect how to arrange the sugar flowers or smooth the fondant?

Is this a silly question? Because I can't think of a way in which the two cakes would be different...

Just to stress the point, it doesn;t actually matter whether or not two cakes are different.....

.......but, to hear the "religious" tell the tale you'd think that their hands were trembling in fear of what jesus would do to them were they to bake the gay cake.  That might interfere with their ability to shoot a load of hot frosting all over the pastries in the shape of so many interlocked vaginas.

Once again... no! I’m certainly not saying (wanting) that nor are most of the people I have seen speak on the issue.

I can only conclude that you;re being naive or disingenuous.  I;d prefer to believe the former..but couldn;t rule out the latter.

Why sue, all the way to the supreme court, for the right to discriminate against gays...unless you want the right to discriminate against gays.,........?
