I know how harsh it sounds..and I know that in the case of whatevs I;m talking to a person who shares most of my concerns..but where we find ourselves today in politics is the culmination of boomer culture.  Its not so much that the board is tilted..as that it has been flipped over, all the pieces have been thrown at the browns..and the room it was sitting in has been set on fire.  

We;re talking about a generation that not only shittified politics to a point that seems beyoind repair..but also did their level best to kill the entire planet, dead..while saddling yours truly with the work of fixing every single fuckup...all the while complaining that I wont back their horses.

So..you know, spare me the lecture on civics..pops. 

Yeah, I agree with the bolded.  Sorry about that.  Funny how so many of us felt our generation would be special. Who knew it would be for all the wrong reasons.  But while I agree my bunch suck, I don't think the generation before was any where near the 'greatest'.  Not only did they create us but so many were mired in uptight, role-driven life styles which demanded rebellion.  

It would be nice to see the place improve while I'm still able to follow current events.  That's probably why I get as pissed off as I do when it seems people won't do the little things that could help improve our mess so that we didn't have to leave you as big a shit mess as we have.  But it does just seem to spiral worse all the time, especially under Trump.  

I don't agree that things were so awful under Obama.  Remember that politics is the art of the possible.  Keep in mind who lives here with us, if we're exceptional it is mostly for the wrong reasons.  For that matter I don't think Billy Can't-keep-his-disck-in-his-pants Clinton was so bad either.  Who knew that moving the democratic party to the center would drive the conservatives into the looney bin?  On the surface it looked promising.

-and you will.  You just wont be a relevant political force while you;re watching it happen.  Gen Xers (like Obama) and millenials (like myself) will be steering the ship back on course.  

For better or for worse.....and Homeland gen will fix -our- fuckups. The earliest portion of millenials isn;t all roses anyway..were the ones who shot at kids under Bush and Obama. Damaged goods...gonna be interesting how that plays out.

America is currently the bastard love child of Christianity and Capitalism.  The special snowflakes (who ironically call others snowflakes) believe their BELIEFS are so sacredly held that they are above everything else in the fucking world.  And because they're the majority, they can say 'fuck everyone who isn't me'
