I take it you haven't seen the Water Tower.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vukovar_water_tower It was shot at 600 times in the battle. While the rest of the town was rebuilt, the water tower was kept the way it was as a memorial. If you seriously want to look for proof that it happened, besides the memory of people who lived through it (maybe they're shills who were hired to make up a story by whoever had the bright idea to fabricate it even if it would probably just be easier to destroy an actual town), look there. It's stayed the same since 1991.
