I'm a bit confused by this thread, does Theo think we'll all suddenly say "Gee that all makes sense now!"

Maybe he thinks shit will actually smell sweet if he can come up many different variations in explaining how it is sweet.

That's not true, Jesus could be a violent schizophrenic homosexual who is struggling to live up to the expectations of his father who is a genuine asshole and who is also him. Jesus has issues with his physical dad Joseph who continues to try and convince Jesus that he is actually his father and that Jesus' gay lover John the Baptist is bad news, but the Schizophrenic part of Jesus thinks he is his own father and his lover John continues to support this conclusion, as does Jesus' bat-shit mother who is likely a cheater but told Joseph she didn't sleep around. There are also suggestions throughout that Jesus is actually the son of god though these remain unconfirmed.

That would be a fucking awesome story.

What was the point of asking this Theo? There was no creation, but an inflationary event. Whether this took place 13.7 bn years ago or 0.000006bn years ago does not alter that fact. For this to be of any interest at all, you would have to demonstrate that:

1) a god/s existed; and
2) was the best expalnation of the inflationary event; or
3) you could show evidence of their actions in initiating the inflation

The best of luck with that, becuase there has never been any remotely convincing argument nor evidence for it. Until you can demonstrate this then it is purely academic and of no interest whatsoever in getting to the truth.

To Theophilus,

Do you actually believe a story written by Iron Age people who believed the the earth was flat, that sky was a dome held up by mountains and the stars as windows on that dome. Is in anyway a reliable history of the earth, let alone the universe?

When did God create the world?
Never. Unless you count that fairytale.

Probably. Those people are entranced by "magical" thinking.

Indeed he is, wonder why we have been waiting for 2000 years for his son to come back Wink
The reason for the delay in found in 2 Peter 3:9,
Quote:The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
His invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
