I worry that 36 years of smoking already did its damage, but quitting when I did was better than spending another year smoking. Only time will tell what I did to myself.

Thank you. Believe it or not - you helped me get here.

See, I stopped smoking cigarettes a few years ago and started smoking people.

Great for stress relief and no weight gain...

It's great that you quit. My grandpa could only quit after he started taking pills for it. By then it was far too late, and he had developed terrible emphysema.

Well done ! it's not just a personal victory against cigarettes, but a contribution too against the tobacco destructive industry.

This sick poison -which I'm addicted too, sadly- is just the biggest scam in human history. I still wonder how it's legal, while medicine -like marijuana- is the banned plant.

But well done Joods.

Gained weight in the process, but I had to get away from those nasty things because I was getting to a point where I just couldn't ever picture myself without a smoke. I'm glad I proved myself wrong.

My sincerest congratulations, Joods.  Nothing you could have done will be as pivotal to your health.  Wish you equal success for shedding the pounds which facilitated your kicking tobacco.

Have you tried the Desert Island Plan? If you're on a desert island with no cigarettes you can't smoke. My own desert island was a cave in the Mojave Desert.  My friends dropped me off with two weeks worth of food and water and an emergency radio. The second night I was trying to lure coyotes within arm's reach so I could have something to beat up. After a week I was over the worst of it.
