Health benefits of moderate drinking

RE: Health benefits of moderate drinking
I'd rather smoke a bowl than drink.

I drink way too much.

I'm with Valk.  If a little alcohol is good for you then a lot of alcohol should be VERY good for you.

Seems logical.

Had to give it up or die. My ride does not have brakes.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

In an average week I'll drink 0-3 alcoholic drinks in total.  My usual choices are dry wine, beer, Scotch or brandy.  Very occasionally I'll do a rum-based mixed drink but don't always keep rum in the cabinet.  I also drink dealcoholized beer on a regular basis, usually a lager.

Unfortunately I don't know of any dealcoholized wines that actually taste good.  All of them are much too sweet for my tastes.

Two or three times a year, on major holidays and for my birthday, I bring in a bottle of sparkling white wine and usually have at least two glasses with dinner and dessert.  There's usually about half a bottle left, which I cork and use up over the next few days.

I'm the square here I guess. The affective part of my disorder is bipolar and I take lithium for it. Alcohol can negate the effects of Lithium. Actually due to meds for the other aspect, I wasn't able to really get drunk. I got really fucked up but not drunk. It wasn't at all pleasant. I have had only 2 experiences with alcohol, so I never really developed a liking for it.

In short, I don't drink at all.

Interesting. I have bipolar disorder too but the alcohol really seems to be helping with my depression. It also reduces my anxiety.

IDK maybe it does, in small amounts. I just know I don't want it interfering with my meds. The Lithium especially. The meds that wouldn't let me get drunk were for the Schizophrenic aspect of my disorder. Sometimes people with bipolar wind up on these type of drugs anyway. But Zyprexa the night before drinking is not a fun time.  If I hadn't gone on Seroquel for sleep I probably could get properly drunk if I wanted to. But as I said, I never really developed a liking for it.
