Banning face coverings

RE: Banning face coverings
My wife said she was only repeating something she heard about those Muslim areas, so it may not be accurate. Sorry about that!

I think we should encourage the ugly ones to face cover, definitely in restaurants.

My real opinion is... If you want to walk around looking like a bin bag on the say so of some bullshit book, crack on with it at home. If on the other hand you are being made to cover by your husband/family then that's another example of religion oppressing people.
I am for banning face coverings of all descriptions in the public space, regardless of the reasoning behind wearing it. If I can't walk around the Trafford centre wearing a balaclava then why can they get away with their headgear?

Religion getting a free pass really gets my goat. The only way things will ever change is when the lawmakers of today are not the brainwashed children of yesterday.

RE: Banning face coverings
There's a not so subtle difference between a place of business prohibiting masks or face coverings as part of their on site policy and a government using that (or the language of female empowerment) to cover for the fact that they're looking to target muslims out of anti-immigrant anxiety.

There's no clear reason to resort to a ban when the inconvenience of not being allowed entry into the mall is, by any rational expectation, going to produce the same effect without such an obvious abuse of power.  It's funny how that works..but...peoples desire to shop for things is commonly stronger than their commitment to their religious beliefs.  Just ask the religionists!

I agree that if religious face coverings are allowed, all face coverings should be, within reason. Can one not walk down the street in a balaclava? I don’t see how it’s a problem.

Think I'll try it in the town centre, see how long it takes until the cctv operator informs the fuzz.

Lol sure, I can’t say I know what would happen. My brother walked around in a full ninja suit in a town centre for a while. I know because I was doing the filming!

Ah, but they see your brother as a crank in a ninja suit.  They see migrants as ISIS sleepers.
