But they could make his brother take off the suit without being labelled as racist or Islamophobic. Is Ninjaphobia a thing?

RE: Banning face coverings
It's up to the business owner to decide whether or not they want to deal with that look.  Governments have no problem demanding that people remove masks in confrontation. One needs hardly imagine the outcome of a traffic stop..here, if the officer got up to the drivers side and found ethnic eyes staring back at him from a ski mask. He'd remove the thing with his service pistol....a'feared for his life.

Thing is, the simple fact that a government is trying such a ban does demonstrate their islamaphobia. If they get the label, it's an accurate one. A ninja costume ban, in comparison..is a no nutball rule. Did you know that american flag bikinis are illegal in the US? Same class of charge as entering the country illegally. Mull that one over.

I’m sure he could legally be asked to remove the mask in a shop. We were filming on the streets and no one seemed to mind. I think a lot of people displaced the whole thing.

RE: Banning face coverings
The entire western world is so obsessed by the specter of threats from without, at present...that we don't realize that we're being destroyed from within...which is pretty much the way it goes in the long view of history. We've sold our prestige and our futures in exchange for temporary release from the fear of boogeymen.

Mull over that I'm talking UK not USA, I don't in any way shape or form see Muslim women as a threat, I see injustice, and the persecution card being used over and over by the religious to get their own way. Again, If I need to be identifiable in Tesco's filling station so does everyone.
I'm sick and tired of people backing religious freedoms, it makes me want to puke.

They are free to home school and kill off many braincells of children, they're free to lop off body parts of unsuspecting infants, they're free to discriminate against gay people, they are free to walk the streets covered head to toe, and why? Because nobody has the brass balls to say "Enough of this shit"

I imagine a fair number of these women would actually welcome a ban, we have no idea how many are forced to cover by husbands and family, not allowing them to integrate into the societies in which they live. The UK is a welcoming country, we have people of all stripes living here, successful integration of most, with one notable exception, wonder why that may be? IMHO a ban would be beneficial not only in the interests of equality, but also for these women who have no chance of successful integration.

Let’s just ban clothes for people who potentially scare us.
Dying to live, living to die.

I guess I'm not really understanding... Is this an overall ban on covering your face in public? As in, a Muslim woman cannot walk down the street with her face covered? If so I can't say I'm so much a fan of that. But I definitely do understand forcing people to remove face covers of any kind in places like banks, schools, government buildings, so on and so forth.
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.

Yeah, I believe in France, Denmark and some other places it's been banned in public altogether. I think the motives are highly suspect, and I wouldn't support having such a ban here in the UK either.

There's no talk of that actually happening (AFAIK), in case I misled anyone. I just wanted to discuss the issue in general.

I didn't say you did, I merely noted that the faction trying to push it over the finish line clearly does. You don't actually need to be identifiable at the tesco, not by law anyway. The UK got rid of their mask laws..what..200 years ago? We don't here, either. We're allowed to wear all of our face coverings. We take them off at places of business by social convention, not by law (when we take them off, sometimes it's fuckin cold and or too hot, lol). Shops here in the Danny Boone are full of people wearing facemasks come jan/feb, and that's in addition to our epic full faced hillbilly beards, and fingertip to toe camo getups. Did I mention the guns? We're also carrying guns. Lots of them. Same was true of a baitshop in south florida in august. Nothing quite so tame as a black sack either. We do love our pirate/militant/skull themed sportswear. I wear a green check keffiyeh and oakleys /w fatigues. Nobody gives me shit when I'm shopping or pumping gas..and I smoke at the pump..even.

At least I don't wear a pistol into the mcdonalds anymore..right? That's my dad and grandad. Wink

I'm no friend of islam, and I certainly don't have much patience with people who stuff their wives and daughters (or themselves) into trashbags because godsedso..nevertheless...there's a disparity.

Yabut, that might scare us even more in the buff...right?
