The Thread of Days.

RE: The Thread of Days.
Why is this celebrated twice a year? Was the childhood mortality rate that high when it started so they did every 6 months to get at least one in?

But you saw through it when she reached 87 teeth, right?

Or was it when the old woman nearby kept losing her dentures?

Well, I worked for two days to make $5 back then...

I found a calculator for inflation. When I was born in 1963, my teeth would have been worth 61 cents if they are worth $5 today. By the time I was ten, they would have been worth 88 cents. I typically got $0.50 for my teeth, so my parents were a bit under the average.

I'm sorry but that is the best story about the tooth fairy ever. Your kid profited by that so much more than getting to believe it's true. Did your kid come to realize if one was fake all were like Santa and the Easter bunny or never connect the dots?

I think you should send an invoice.

The Easter Bunny yeah. Santa not so much and even when she did find out, she had to keep it all a secret because of her sister. With J having Ds and a maturity level of 7 years old, we never told her Santa wasn't real. She gets so excited at seeing Santa, we just didn't have the heart to tell her.

I created a thread with this question but more detail. I don't want to derail this thread too much but would really like to hear more of this topic from you and other parents if you don't mind telling me more of your experience.
