Abiogenesis. A step closer.
Just read this and was mind boggled. Although it's not quite creating self-replicating chemicals from nothing, it's getting pretty close.

I frequently use Lenski's experiment as an example of Evolution when talking to people who don't believe it. The article on chemical evolution / self replication was fascinating though Big Grin
