RIP McCain

RE: RIP McCain
Surely one of the truly great Americans.

I hope that at least some Republicans will remember him, and choose to pick up the torch.

I was going to drop a Trump vid here, but it feels somehow inappropriate to do anything but express my condolences for the Americans in these forums who have lost a good man.

McCain must have been doing something right, since Russia has been cheering the loss of 'the great enemy'.

RE: RIP McCain
McCain was loved by the media when he was agin' Bush 43 and Trumply. Yet he was vilified for running against Obama.

How about we encourage a media that just reports stuff and let's ME decide the love/hate thing myself ?
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Caught some of his funeral this morning, including President Obama's eulogy. Very touching to hear Renee Fleming sing "Danny Boy".

RE: RIP McCain
One thing about today's coverage, and knowing McCain had a sense of humor. Did anyone notice how slow Henry Kissinger was talking. Molasses is faster than that. Even McCain would be like, "Henry, I love you dude, and thanks for the ode, but you're taking a huge chunk out of my eternity."

He is 95 years old. He needs to start practicing the art of taking an eternity to do things, otherwise he would run out of things to do in the first 0.00% of his stay.

No, you don't understand, he always talked that slow. I am not talking about his IQ or age either. I've run into people of all ages that talk that slow. Henry is still doing better at his age than I am at mine, there is no way I am reaching 95 the way I live.

He was in front of me in line for lunch at the white house just about 16 years ago.  He moved okay then but his attention was entirely on the ladies in line around him.  Pretty good moves there too.

Must have been hell on the wait staff or cashier. I can't really rip on the guy that hard. I can't tell you how many times I have gone to a new food joint, and couldn't decide. I know the staff was thinking, "HEY ASSHOLE, ORDER, IT'S JUST FOOD". I've had people waiting on me and gone all Sheldon Cooper seeing the look in their eyes.

But in all seriousness, today gave me some hope we can survive the orange volcano.

RE: RIP McCain
McCain was not a mass produced conservative. He was an individual who was not afraid to think on his own. In that way he reminded me of Goldwater. Heel spurred Trump made a mistake by calling POW McCain a loser. I don't understand why he has not paid dearly for that statement.
