I have an RV, which while I'm in North America I live in. So I'm more of a ride giver at this point. I picked up 5 people hiking the continental divide trail this summer.

Now I did a little hitchhiking in Spain this year. I mostly got picked up by hot chicks. I swear to Jesus.

But no, in general I don't worry. Hitchhiking, or picking up hitchhikers, I believe, makes you no more likely to run into a serial killer than any other encounter with a stranger. I think that hitchhiking has an unfair and inaccurate portrayal by the media. I've really had nothing but good experiences.

Even if that were the case, I'm 6 feet tall, male, extremely fit, have a jiu jitsu blue belt. I am not the right victim for anyone.

I felt lonely living in an apartment.

Basically most of my friends are nomadic too. But my social life is way better than it used to be. Because my traveling centers around rock climbing, it's like being part of a tribe. Not to mention I am rarely traveling alone. Most of the time I travel with friends or girlfriends. Who are also people on the road.

So actually I'm less lonely than most people.

By working.

There are more seasonal jobs and more demand for them than people realize. It's easy to get a seasonal job, easier than finding full time work, and super easy to save money.

Lol, no.

But I'm not going random places. I'm going to specific destinations. This summer and last summer I spent in Lander Wyoming, which near doubles in population in the summer cause of all the nomads. It's very welcoming, they literally let you live in the park.

Sort of. There was this time, when I came back from South America where I missed having a chest of drawers. It was a very strange desire. So I went out to New Mexico and got a job in a golf club and moved into an apartment for the summer. It was sooooo boring. I didn't even use the drawers, just kept my shit in my backpack.
