We haven't seen any injuries in 50 years of range use - other than a dumbass ringing himself on a scope, by getting too close.

Doesn't mean my cousins are safe.

The King does bow season, black powder season and regular hunting season.  Not birds though.  Quail aren't worth the effort and neither of us likes the taste of duck.
Where are we going and why am I in this hand basket?

Not a fan of duck either.

We are however getting pretty thick with turkey - so I may do that.

What I am hoping for - is they open a crane season here. They do have one in many states.

I' ve been told by those who know is it tastes exactly like beef.

12 pages! See what happens when I go to the beach for a few days. Good luck with your hunting, OLB.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

I only wish the taste of game meat didn't make me gag otherwise I'd eat a lot of it.

I used to feel the same way about that game taste.  Then the King took a deer roast and wrapped it in raw bacon before cooking it.  Apparently the bacon soaks up all the game-y taste.  We were left with a hunk of lean meat that tasted every bit as good as the best beef roast I've ever cooked.  Not wanting the bacon to go to waste, I offered it to the dogs.  Who would normally eat almost anything.  One wouldn't touch it and the other took one bite and then drank water for 10 minutes straight, I assume to get the taste out of her mouth.  Considering that dog loved to eat cat shit, that says a lot for how much game taste the bacon soaked up.  Now we just throw it away and eat the roast.

It definitely made a believer out of me.  He also has a Hawaiian marinade he uses sometimes.  Now I eat venison on a regular basis.  I once tried the bacon wrap thing with a duck we were given.  It still sucked.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
