I Voted today.

BINGO^^^^^^^^

The irony of old people that vote GOP is that they benefited from the post WW2 high taxes, low pay gap, high investment and the age of unions, only to have Reagan fuck them over and ever since have that party attack things like social security and medicare, the things they depend on now.

Why? Because all you have to do to con those old morons is throw "God, guunnns and bibles" at them and blame black people and other minorities.

And before you go any further Wyaz I know you put "atheist" under your avatar. I don't care. Ayn Rand was an atheist too, had the same horrible view on economics as the GOP does. Libertarians to me are simply republicans who are willing to extend poverty wages to LGBT and pot smokers with even if they don't want to have them arrested.

Claiming that anyone who doesn't vote a straight Democrat party line ticket is voting against their self-interest is ridiculous.

I don't agree with Trump's recent announcement that he intends to roll back the summer ban of E85, but I have absolutely no problem recognizing that someone in Iowa would vote for the GOP in their self-interest based wholly or in part because of this.

If GOP economic polices worked, nobody in any zip code would be bitching. The only thing GOP polices do is make CEOs and Wall Street investors richer. They do not help red states or blue states, city or rural workers.

Nobody is falsely playing victim except the orange turd and billiionaires.

Nope, I may be voting against your interests, not mine. You have no idea what my self interests are.

You know very little about politics/business except playing the victim card. You certainly know nothing about the local politics where I live.

If it wasn't about me why was the post repeatedly filled with "you"?

Edit: Now I'm Ayn Rand? What the fuck is wrong with you? You sound like an insane SJW.

I guess I will vote today after work. I thought my boyfriend had filled out an absentee ballot for me, but it turns out he completely forgot to get to it.

You mentioned you were not happy with the "national" aspect, I would assume you are not happy with the orange bully. But if you are still supporting state GOP houses or govs who helped put the bully in office, sorry, what do you want me to say?

No I am not a SJW, and that is simply another bullshit code word to excuse ignoring the big picture.

We have already seen in American history, where political scapegoating and vilification goes. It is what cased a civil war because asshole religious bigots didnt want to give up owning other humans. It was the same tactic used by sexist Christian male politicians to try to keep women like Susan B Anthony from voting. It is the same political vilification that tried to keep segregation and got Martin Luther King Jr murdered.

And this is not unique to American history. Political vilification, and hyper nationalism was used by Germany, Italy and Japan to justify scapegoating the rest of the world.

The asshole in the WH is beyond politics. He is attempting to destroy everything any western pluralistic society should value. He doesn't give one flying fuck how he divides rural, suburban  and urban voters. He even ATTACKED McCain, whom stuck up for Obama, you know, a war hero.

And judging by your kneejerk ressponses here, I bet you don't even know, or ignore the REAL reason the orange turd attacks black NFL players. No, it is not about the flag or the anthem. BACK in the 1980s the orange turd used to own a USFL football team, when the league folded, the orange turd wanted to buy into the NFL, but the owners, seeing what he did with his failed business, not that that was the only one, the NFL told him NO!

Now again, if you are going to support the GOP as it currently is, in any aspect even local, do not ignore that they are NOT the party of Lincoln or Teddy. Do not ignore that the parties flipped in the 60s and 70s with Nixon's southern strategy.

My late mother who died last year was a MOSTLY lifetime voting republican. It was frustrating to me to talk to her knowing we agreed on 90% of everything only to have her shut down when I asked her why she voted for that party. That was a woman who put me through college and bought me a  house. But even she put her foot down when the orange bully started his run. She voted for Bernie in the primaries. That said alot to me knowing her history.

And it isn't being a SJW one bit to ask a survivor of Warsaw Poland whom was my mother's roommate at the nursing home what she thought of the orange turd. I'll give you a clue, that survivor of the Holocaust hated him, and rightfully so.

So if you think splitting the baby works in the context of his toxic rhetoric being the head of the party and our highest office, nope, not going to fly.

Not looking for a perfect world, so please don't accuse me of that. I am saying right now in our current state out of the two parties, only one is looking to turn back the clock, and while I would LOVE compromise, for far too long the GOP has taken way to much advantage of that.

You'd have to be blind after 8 years of the GOP trying to undue the ACA to fall for their new claim that they will protect pre-existing conditions. Leopards do not change their spots. And that is just one con they are pulling.

Brian, none of that speaks to the very real point that you have no idea what wyzas' best interests are, or the local issues he may vote for or against.

I'm voting to expand health coverage in our state. That tell you anything?

Oops, wait, Brain says "all republicans bad". Maybe I'll change my vote thanks to Brian. If I'm going to be accused of it might as well not disappoint.
