Holding that thought for a moment, what is it that xtians "worship" about "jesus?" Certainly not his alleged teaching which they violate at will on a daily basis. Without the magic tricks, jesus may have shoveled shit on the caravan routes.
Now, back to the main point, you still haven't produced any "evidence" that a historical jesus existed or was even necessary.

If The Historical Jesus didn't have magical powers, he wasn't Jesus.
Right. That's why we make a distinction between the Historical Jesus and the mythological Jesus of Christianity
There is the historical Elvis who died on the toilet, and the mythological Elvis who is supposedly still alive

But at least we have actual evidence that the historical Elvis really did exist.
I'm still waiting for yours.

To a whole other forum, in fact.
Atheist Forums Hall of Shame:

"(Yahweh's) actions are good because (Yahweh) is the ultimate standard of goodness. That’s not begging the question"

Sounds like an equally problematic situation for "skeptics."
1. If Jesus did exist at any point in history, then you end up being wrong.
2. If Jesus didn't exist, you've wasted much of your over quarreling about someone who never existed.
I don't think bigfoot, the lochness monster, or space aliens exist, but the day I swear up and down that they don't, someone is going to show up on my doorstep with a real photo of E.T. in a boat with Bigfoot, in a swamp partying with the Lochness Monster.
If you feel you have a legit argument, there's still no way to confirm that someone "didn't exist" at some point in history.

There is no quarrel. There is simply no evidence worthy of the name that he did. Further, he is not necessary any more than a historical Odin or Osiris was necessary to the formation of those cults.
People have invented thousands of gods and I really doubt you would insist that there had to be a historical person behind them.
And we don't want to get into special pleading, do we?

What you're saying is that is known as an "opinion." Everyone has them, but it's not a determining factor to determine something exists, or existed, at some point.
Opinion (according to you) There is no worthy evidence of that name.
Opinion (others) I believe because I think there is sufficient evidence.
Fact: Minimalist and others who are like-minded think there is insufficient evidence, while other people think differently and believe there is sufficient evidence.
So why is your opinion to be taken more seriously than anybody else's?
I don't know that "Odin" didn't exist in some form at some point in history. If he did, then great. If he didn't, then great. Regardless, I'm not going to go around yappin about how Odin never existed. It would be as much of a waste of time as watching paint dry on rocks I just painted in a river.
