How many times do we have to make it clear that we don't want that conversation publicly aired here? You can do it in private or in your other spaces. Shit, you can even do it here, but we really, really frown on it. We asked several of you, multiple times, to back up ANY of the he said/she said "facts" you were touting, and the only thing we found was that one was an outright lie. You said it wasn't nice to give your opinion, so stop doing it. Simple.

I agree with you. The reason it was brought here is because you accused some people by name, myself included. So I felt I should say something on that.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Because the people who talked about it publicly are to blame for the member’s absence. Nobody needed to say anything publicly. The person who brought it up did so to try and present it as some failure on the staff, despite the fact that the accusation had nothing to do with being on staff.

I’d call making up lies and spreading misinformation about a person “bullying”, but maybe that’s me. The most serious accusation turned out to be a complete lie, and it’s disgusting that it was brought up and presented as truth despite the accuser not even bothering to check.

The end result? A great mod apparently being scared off the forums.I hold anyone who spread lies and gossip responsible. It should have been handled privately.

That’s all I’m going to say about the matter.

Yes, I accused you and others of something you did that there is evidence of. You didn't try to doxx her, your friends did, but you admit what you did do whilst simultaneously defending yourself and others. I'm happy you agree this should stop, and that this will stop now. I hope.

At least you had a chance to defend yourself. Same can not be said about Valk. But hey, people also spend more time gossiping, than hearing what the priest has to say in mass. That was my first hint at the age of 10. Glad to see it wasn't anecdotally a story of mine.

We all agree we don't want further damage by bringing this here, but at the same time everyone wants the last word.

And if you're blaming people by name for someone else's absence without taking the rest of the story into account, of course the people being blamed are going to want to come in and say something. You can't really expect otherwise.

The part about money was wrong from the get go, and as I said, I condemned that rumor. The part about the location was as well, but location was never the crux of it. The rest is true.

It sucks because I can't fully explain why I don't think we are entirely to blame for the absence without spilling the whole story. And I don't want to do that again, and won't. But when I feel I'm being blamed for something unfairly, of course I'm going to feel the need to weigh in some.

Ugh. But she did though. That's the thing. As has been said already, a friend of hers, who believed her, messaged her and asked her for proof so that the speculation would stop. Instead of giving it, she disappeared.

Again, I say this as being someone who's identity was also questioned here on AF. What did I do? I gave people my Facebook page (which is obviously real). I did video chats on Skype with people. I made an accent video. I even PMed someone a picture of me holding up a sign of my username.

This happened to me too, and I put an end to it by easily proving them wrong. If I had actually lied about who I was and people found out and I left, one can't say it wasn't at all my accountability for having lied in the first place.

"Everyone" wants to have the last word, including you.

You have no idea that the rest of it is true or you would have brought us fucking evidence, like we fucking asked you to. No one fucking cares if people lie about who they are, unless they're lying to be assholes, as was the case with two former members who were called out for being lying douchenozzles. This is the Internet. If you care people aren't who they say they are, you shouldn't be on the damn Internet. In this case, it was an extremely nice member, and it didn't matter a single fucking wit who she really was. You all just wanted to be right. You have absolutely no right to proof of anyone's identity at all. Not any of you and not us. We don't pry into each other's personal lives because we're not goddamned cunts. Well, some of us aren't. I have my doubts about you lately. The ONLY reason we would have had any right to pry is if the money claim was true, and it was an outright lie. That should have stopped you squawking hens, but it didn't. Did you ever stop to think maybe there was something really wrong, so she was trying to make friends the only way she knew how or maybe you half-assed Sherlocks were *gasp* wrong?! Nah, you just plowed ahead and now try to say you were wrong here to look like you have some insight into your behavior, but follow it up with a bunch of excuses. We needed more help because of the shit you lot stirred up, and now we're down a hard-working fair mod also because of the shit stirring. Thanks a bunch, Peaches.

For the last time, if you're going to say you're positive that you are correct while smearing someone's name. You better back it up with more than a story about something Captain said. I don't even necessarily disbelieve you. I just think you did a wrong thing and didn't bother to give evidence.

Yes, poor you. You still missed the point. The thing is, between you and valk, I don't need pics for showing who they truly are. and this is my last post on this.

I'm sorry. I'm actually pissed, so I shouldn't be posting about this. I'll stop posting too, and hope this gets back on topic.
