This is different from the civility subsection in soooo many ways, but it should give folks who don’t want “vile” talk a way to converse, so I don’t get the problem.

I hope part of our updates will be a reminder to people that it’s easier for them not to feed the troll than it is for us to determine who is a troll or not quickly enough for their satisfaction.

I can see this as a big help for political discussions. Too often, if they gather any attention it's just mudslinging and emotional posturing.

OP idea is a terrible idea, but whatevs, it'll  play out for what it is and af will persist through it.
