Coming out as genderfluid on this forum
RE: Coming out as genderfluid on this forum
Wherever you happen to be standing, would probably be a good start.

@OP

Sounds rough.  GL with that.  Hopefully the folks that matter most to you will handle it better than the folks who don't matter to you at all.

What exactly is Gender-fluid?

For me I never really cared if I'm called male or female, given my short hair, boyish style of clothing I've been called by many customers in my retail store 'he' that boy' and 'sir'. I never really did care if someone saw me as a boy or a girl, I felt I should be seen for who I am not what sex I was.
Though I'll admit it's rather humorous when the customer says 'Thank you sir.' and I reply with the 'your welcome, have a nice day.' they get flustered and say 'I mean ma'am.'
And yes, I reassure them I have nothing against them saying 'sir' to me when they try to apologize profusely for saying 'sir' or suggesting I was a boy. Though I do live in a very conservative area. I get asked sometimes as to why I have short hair, simply put it's just easier to take care of as my hair is naturally thick and heavy, so having it long is painful in summer heat much less washing it.

Whoops I'm ranting again. But really, what would make a person genderfluid?

We can't just not accept people's life experiences because they don't jive with ours, especially if they can't help it.

Would you find my OCD or panic disorder unacceptable? What about Tibs' Tourette's Syndrome. I'd guess not, so if your hypothesis that it is a disorder is correct, it's even more reason to be kind and understanding.

Like I said, it depends on the disorder. Is the behavior harmful to society? If so then it's unacceptable.

Transgender ‘female’ MMA fighter gives female opponent concussion, broken eye socket
Quote:Transgender mixed martial arts (MMA) competitor Fallon Fox is facing new criticisms after breaking the eye socket of his last opponent.

On Saturday, Fox defeated Tamikka Brents by TKO at 2:17 of the first round of their match. In addition to the damaged orbital bone that required seven staples, Brents received a concussion. In a post-fight interview this week, she told Whoa TV that "I've never felt so overpowered ever in my life."

“I’ve fought a lot of women and have never felt the strength that I felt in a fight as I did that night. I can’t answer whether it’s because [he] was born a man or not, because I’m not a doctor,” she stated. “I can only say, I’ve never felt so overpowered ever in my life, and I am an abnormally strong female in my own right. ”

Like I said, where are we going to draw the line?

Huggy, that’s an MMA issue, not a gender identity issue.

Yeah, I don’t really feel like pedophilia is a disorder in that sense. Gender fluidity is not transgender, and it doesn’t affect society at all. End of.

Can't really address the gender-fluid question, being one of those cis-male guys...though I do admire a fire or two. There is a paraphilia for fire, called pyrophilia, not pyromania. The former is attraction to fire, the latter is destructive. BoT- For me, I take the tack, if I can't tell a person's sex by obvious outer characteristics, to just say "Thank you", without any sexual reference to "sir", or "ma'am".

I had short hair back in the '60s and '70s when most guys wore it long. I used to get grief from some of the girls/women about it, but I worked as a mechanic and got plenty of crud in my hair as a result. Some people used to say that that wasn't a good enough reason. Tough bounce to that, is all I can say.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

I don't understand what gender fluid means.
The internet is full of conflicting ideas about its definition and apparently it has nothing to do with sexual orientation, so why the need to 'come out'?
It sounds like something you call yourself when you don't want to be pinned down by labels, except gender fluid is a label.
Where does the word androgynous stand these days and what's the difference between that and gender fluidity?
Is it a term you can only give to yourself or can other people assign this label to you?
The dickhead that's been making all these nasty comments here has been rightly chastised for his behaviour, but does anyone understand what gender fluid means, or are we just agreeing because we're part of the left?
My view is that most male and female roles are bullshit anyway, it's all just an act to fit in to society.
Perhaps I am gender fluid, but it's getting so confusing that I am getting ready to tune out.
As to the author of this thread, I would accept you however you are and I don't think you need to label yourself for others, just be yourself and if that doesn't hurt others then who gives a fuck what they think.

Gender fluid? That might be construed as being somewhat suggestive. Huh

Hey, LL, I get what genderfluid is. I don't understand it, but it means you don't specifically identify with one or the other gender. You kind of phase in and out and in-between in terms of how you feel.
