Just having a look at which nations are the most obese Britain tops western Europe with levels of obesity on a par with the US. I blame McDonalds and KFC.
Both the products of American ingenuity, god bless the USA!

Yeah it's probably quite different for the military. The one time I worked in company selling software to the MOD we developed a pile of shit (which included cartoon icons and comic sans in the GUI).
My career has mainly focused on R&D in industry, particularly with start-ups.
Although if we're talking about innovation, Scotland basically invented the modern world.
Not that Scotland should be considered part of Britain ...
Most Americans with roots in this country past three generations are of Irish and Scottish stock.

What do I think of the British? I don't. My experiences with them are too few to allow me to form any kind of informed opinion.
My brother was married to a Brit for a while. She was nice but kind of prudish. Would get up and leave the room if anything was mentioned that she perceived as objectifying women or the least bit risque. Yeah, I don't miss her all that much. I was on a ski vacation in France once where myself and two friends spent a week in a chalet with half a dozen Brits. They all seemed like really decent folks. When it came time to check out the hot tub, all the dudes were happily prancing about in their speedo banana hammocks and it made me wish the prudishness of my ex sister in-law was a little more widespread in her home country.

They breed like rabbits in them thar parts. Though without the bicycle they'd be breeding like rabbits with their close relatives.

I can't even begin to discuss the prevalence of obesity. Someone will be offended, surely. I understand that some people have health issues that make weight control an issue but I also witness people who eat more in a workday than I eat in a week. I can't help but wonder if they miss the connection between that sort of behavior and the fact that they can barely fit in an office chair while they eat their way through the day.

No, we merely perfected it. We're also leading the world in anorexia too, I understand. We're setting records on both ends of the eating disorder spectrum.

It is geographically part of the island known as "Britain".

No. We didn’t invent it. We democratized it, and made it accessible to Your huddled masses yearning to stuff their faces with junk food.

I think we culturally appropriated that from Samoa.
On the contrary, severe obesity amongst aborigines is largely an result of genes recently selected by surviving severe famine suddenly being exposed to large surplus in calories made possible by western foods and food processing techniques.

It's fair enough though.
They did single-handedly win WWII.
It would appear that 73 years after winning World War Two, our guilty conscience has become too much to bear and we put trump in the whitehouse so we can retroactively lose it 73 years late.
Better late than never.

America is the land that lures people into the greatest sense of complacency and false security before the jaws of the Malthusian trap begin to close.
