That's not what the article you linked said. It said,

Sticking a silencer on a gun increases bench accuracy...

While I find an increase hard to believe, a well-designed suppressor shouldn't have a lot of impact on accuracy. Most of them I've tried cause a slight shift in point of impact, but don't open up the groups much.

I just finished building this one last week.  



We put it on a bolt action 22 LR using match (subsonic) ammo, and it made less noise than most pellet guns. On a 14.5" 5.56 AR it brought the noise level down to doesn't make your ears bleed. We weren't shooting from a bench so I can't tell you exactly how it affected group size, but we didn't notice any difference in accuracy with the suppressor.

Alignment is important. That's why I have a couple different sizes of alignment rods to check that kind of stuff. Supposed to be straight to within 1/1000" over 12". Baffle design is important too. Poor baffle design can cause enough turbulence to change a bullet's flight path and cause a strike. I compensate with an oversize bore. The one pictured above has a .280 bore. Gives me a lot more clearance than the .25" bore a lot of people use. Of course all else being equal a .25" bore would be quieter than a .28" bore...
