Could exposure to comedy affect your sense of humor?

RE: Could exposure to comedy affect your sense of humor?
Eh, I think it's definitely possible to be "burnt out" on comedy for a while. Now days, I find myself much more attracted to stand-up comedy than comedy movies, as comedy movies rarely make me laugh sincerely. I still very much enjoy the work of Bill Burr, Louis CK, Chris Rock, Tom Segura... Theo Von is pretty funny and I even enjoyed Christina P's special (who is Tom Segura's wife). I actually liked Hannah Gadsby's "Nanette," even though the serious undertone and the whole SJW "I hate straight, cis white men" mood turned me off a little. She was actually quite funny and I ended up really liking the special.... left me wondering if she's really quitting comedy.

So yeah, I think I prefer stand-up to comedy movies, but even then I can definitely find myself getting burnt out on stand-up for periods of time.

Good question.

Possibly; my earliest exposure to professional humour was radio. Mainly British comedy, such as the Goons and "Take it from here" .Also an hilarious, pure Aussie show "Life With Dexter" . Aussie sense of humour tends to be rather dry.

TV:  Again British, "Steptoe and Son" "T'ill death us to part". Favourite series of all time; "Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister. Didn't like' The Office'. Don't like grotesques.

Later: I though Seinfeld was as funny as cancer and loathed Raymond. Loved ' LA law' and  quite like 'The Big Bang"

Favourite comedy films in the last decade; "Snatch" "The Commitments"  and "The Van". Can't stand Will Farrell or that Sanders bloke. Liked Jim Carey for about 10 minutes. Favourite stand up; George Carlin. Can't stand  alleged Aussie comedian Jim Jeffries, Quite like Fluffy.

Monty Python goes without saying.   A favourite sketch: MrCreosote

To answer the question: Not sure there is a definitive answer.

Clip: Mr Creosote . Caution, it's pretty gross AND includes "The Penis Song"   We showed  Mr Creosote at work, and one of the young women threw up

Speaking of farts

Given his background and the backgrounds of his disciples, I think Jesus would have been a pretty earthy kinda of guy. Seems reasonable  to me to assume he told fart jokes.   Cool
