In addition to being a multi-award winning actor (comedy and drama), this person plays piano, drums, guitar, harmonica and saxophone and is a vocalist of no small skill (s/he has released several well-received solo albums and collaborations) and is a best-selling novelist.

Name this person.

My first thought was Jimmy Buffett...but I don't think that's right.  Hmmmm...

But then Bowie comes to mind...hmmmm, again.

Famous artists, be they actors, comedians, musicians, writers are rarely recognized for all those things at the same time, while many do try to dabble in other arts other than what they are primarily known for.

My bad, I misread why you typed.

And the person I have in mind isn't merely 'dabbling'.  If the acting thing goes toes-up, this person could have a successful music career.

The same can be said for crossover sports stars we know today. Some start out in a prior sport only to become famous in what we know today.

So are we talking about recent history or decades old?

If this person is a primary actor, who has gotten awards for acting/comedy/drama/music and writing books, that certainly is rare.

Still stumped.

Sorry I missed it, wasn't feeling that well yesterday. Spent most of the day in bed.

Ask another one. In the mean time, here is one.

What was the name of the Russian officer famously known during the cold war for single handedly preventing WW3?

Incorrect...... Sounds similar to that yes, but no.

And remember, even if you answer correctly, the unofficial rule is to answer with,

"The answer is...(answer)"

Name the traditional Irish sport where the sole piece of playing equipment is a cannonball.  Nothing else - not even a cannon.  Just a cannonball.
