Meanwhile, in an earlier series, a brother raped his sister on the grave of their son.

Not to mention how many scenes in brothels? Including ones with Arya then killing someone?

Hip, hip, hypocrisy!

I think Arya will go too far to disguise herself as an undead walker to get close and end up actually becoming one then have to be killed by her protector the Hound

I'm wondering if that spear she had Gendry make is for that undead dragon.

@Maisie_Williams
if u feel uncomfortable just know that my mother and my step dad and my 2 sisters and my 4 brothers have all probably watched this too ahahakillmeehehe

When it comes to the hate, I imagine the feelings that some fans have toward the scene are akin to that of a parent watching their child have sex for the first time. I mean, we did start watching Arya when she was just a small girl, and it’s definitely a big step for us when we see her doing something more adult.

Funny thing is, fans are repulsed by a sex scene between a grown-up Arya and Gendry, but are completely fine watching her kill people, wear their faces as masks, and even put them into pies for other people to eat. Sure, sex was where people drew the line.

I was totally and completely fine with it, in fact my sister and I were both losing our shit with happiness about it.

On the other hand, though, I did have to stop watching a Californication (that show with David Duchovny) because in like the first episode he's having sex with the actress that played Rachel Greene, the daughter of Mark Greene from ER and I couldn't handle that.

There was hullabaloo about that at the time.

And complaints about sexposition thoughout the first seasons.

And complaints about Dany's relationship with Khal Drogo and how her first sex scene was turned into a rape.

There have been complaints on and off about how sex is dealt with in GOT for its whole run.

@polymath257 Good point. Perhaps she'll get close enough when the night king lands to kill the dragon with disguise and then die and turn by the night king. Then theon might have to be the one to kill the undead death master.

A wooden stick with a glass tip? Yeah, I'm not seeing it. If all you need to kill an undead dragon is to scratch it with some obsidian, then I imagine a few arrows would do the job much more quickly, safely, and efficiently.
I'm sure the spear-thing will have some important part to play, since the show really wants us to pay attention to it. But regardless - it makes sense that Arya would get a battle weapon like that, because:
A. her regular weapons are more suited for stealth assassination (dagger), or close quarter duels ("Needle"), than for a full-on battle,
B. she's small, so she could use a range boost against white walkers on horseback,
C. she was seen training with a staff (or rather - being repeatedly beaten with one) at the House of Black and White, a couple of seasons ago, so it's a good way to tie things together and make that whole plot seem like less of a waste of time.

Well, we know obsidian is useful against the undead. That's why they are trying to make everything from it, after all. We also know that spears like this are effective against dragons for the simple reason that this particular dragon was brought down by a spear.

There's also poetic justice in one of the smaller members taking care of the large undead dragon.

You do have some points about extending range, though.

To be fair that was a magical spear forged by the Night King . Thou I suppose a spear of dragon glass might kill it .

Yes, it was magical with an ice blade, but it was also not a human-scale spear, it was like a javelin. We've also seen the effect that human-scale spears have on dragons and that is next to nada. Qyburn's Scorpion was the closest human-made weapon that almost brought down a dragon and it was huge.

If the Scorpion came north or Gendry was able to recreate it from Jaime's description then they could create a dragonglass Scorpion and take down the ice dragon. But we haven't seen them working on it yet.

I'm wondering if the ice dragon would still answer to Dany or not or if her connection to it has been completely severed.
