‘Man’ did not evolve in Australia, this much we know….but do we know that this vast land, so very close to hugely populated Asia, was uninhabited when ‘indigenous’ people dropped in (and decided to stay) 60-40 thousand years ago(?) If so, I would like to know by what method and in which authoritative, peer-reviewed, scientific work I can read the details.
Yeah, I have a view about "Invasion day". My view is I’m a bit bored with people making out that the British were the only race that suffered from colonising “Christian” zeal. England (and every other country on the Planet) was raped, pillaged, burned, sacked and conquered by every race that invented the boat. Humans are not nice and this was the way of the world at one time. It does not alter the fact that certain historical events happened on certain days.
Finally, I hate hypocrites and it seems to me the people who whine about “invasion day” are the same people who think we should scrap immigration centre’s and open our borders anyone who wants to live here. Very noble, but have they asked aboriginal people how they feel about the second wave of ‘invasion’ this would amount to? Have they been consulted? Naa…of course not….bringing thousands here based on a noble philosophy of ‘saving the oppressed’ and impoverished masses is completely different, isn’t it. Isn’t it?...
