Eddie Large

Don't know how many of the members are old enough to remember him or how widespread Little & Large were but a few Brits from the 80s will know.

Herbert, age 36. Passed away in his stall last night. First horse I ever rode. Gentle as a May breeze, handsome as a movie star would want to be, brave as people think John Wayne was.

I've made it plain how I feel about horses, but condolences on the loss of your friend all the same.

Thanks. You could get on Herbert and just roam the hills. When he felt the reins go slack he'd head directly home. He always came to the family reunions, many a kid rode him before he got too achy.

He certainly had a long life. I've never heard of a horse living to that age. Verily, of the cup of life, he enjoyed a full measure.  Consoling

It would have been a record except that he was acquired without paperwork. Or the knowledge of the original owner I think. "36" is the accepted age among a group of people famous for not being able to count, of course.
