Help refuting an Intelligent design argument

If the universe was intelligently designed, why do we have the religious?  

Iv'e made such quips many times--but at this moment I want to assemble all the arguments I can a refute what he's saying or at least point out all the BS...but I'm using your blowjob analogy--I can't let the good ones get away---Best, John

Actually, if you move passed the joke, it actually confirms his own creationist argument is futile   ....  It just states everything is possible (my view as an atheist) and doesn't give any reason why his first premise is the most likely?

His argument basically states anything that is "known to cause effects exhibiting information rich and specified complexity." "is a possible cause for the universe and life."

So if you are worried about being banned from the forum  ... just use this ....

1) Many things are known to cause effects exhibiting information rich and specified complexity.

2) The universe and life are effects that exhibit information rich in specified complexity.

3) Therefore, Many things are  a possible cause for the universe and life.

Hi Guys, I'm an Atheist and just joined. I'm also participating in another Atheist/Theist forum and usually have great dialogue with Theists. I recently have been exchanging arguments with a Theists supporting intelligent Design and have knocked his arguments down repeatedly but he just posted something which I know is fallacious but not sure if I'll answer sufficiently. Are there any members willing to help me draft a response to his argument? I would appreciate your help. If you're experienced with a 3 prong argument this should be a piece of cake. Best, John

If the universe was "designed" for us, why will 99.999% of it kil us? (too hot/cold/radioactive, poisonous, vacuum etc.)
