Going from apathetic to antagonistic on religion
Before I used to just not care but the more and more I read about religion the more and more it sickens me. How do I go back to being apathetic? All this rage is not good for a person. BTW book I'm reading now is "God is Not Good How Religion Poisons Everything"

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/28/world/...ganda.html

Quote:“David’s death is a result of the hatred planted in Uganda by U.S. evangelicals in 2009,” Val Kalende, the chairwoman of one of Uganda’s gay rights groups, said in a statement. “The Ugandan government and the so-called U.S. evangelicals must take responsibility for David’s blood.”

Ms. Kalende was referring to visits in March 2009 by a group of American evangelicals, who held rallies and workshops in Uganda discussing how to turn gay people straight, how gay men sodomized teenage boys and how “the gay movement is an evil institution” intended to “defeat the marriage-based society.”

AS if Uganda doesn't have enough problems without a bunch of shit-spewing xtians showing up to egg them on.

Anger can be a good thing! It causes us to speak up! Otherwise, without opposition, imbeciles like the cretins who erected the Creation "Museum" would have a clear field . We need to drive these morons back into their caves so they don't poison the minds of youngsters. By speaking up we let the little ones know that there is an opposing viewpoint and what they're being spoonfed isn't necessarily so.

I saw a video where Creationists took a group of young children to a Natural History Museum (in Cincinnati, I believe). They then brought the kiddies to the exhibits and ripped everything that was posted on the information placards. At one exhibit, one of the dipsticks pointed out how the museum claims the dinosaur bones are millions of years old. He then said to the kiddies, "How do they know?". Next, he had the kiddies all chant in unison, "How do they know?... How do they know?.... How do they know?". Well, just a few feet away was a display explaining "How they know". Of course, the Creationist assholes didn't point this out to the kids.

I was absolutely disgusted by this and I wished someone had stepped forward and said something! If I was there I most certainly would have pointed out the placard describing the process used to date dinosaur bones. I also might have said something like, "Don't listen to this guy, kids! He's trying to fill your heads with crap!"
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.

God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?

Atheists at one time would have gone out and happily slaughtered religious folk. Partly because we felt misled, partly because it was a form of entertainment.

Now we've got BBC documentaries on ice caps and Lady Ga Ga.

Think yourself lucky. Smile
