Of course most murderous intruders do enter through the front door...where you would be standing already armed with your 'edged instruments' because your spidey senses warned you of the killer at your front door.

Jebus F Chrisp you are impressed with yourself.

Your continued reductio ad absurdum is more annoying than amusing. If wit is your goal you don't  get points.

lol you started it.  Hilarious

No. I didn't .

You fixated on it as a distraction from my point ( with citation) of the fact that being killed by a cop is pretty unlikely. You don't want to address that, and judging by your conduct so far - I don' t expect an acknowledgement.

You're too enamoured with the liberal mythology.

Luckily we're all on Thieves' World, so we'd be back pretty quickly.

Yeah, you did start it:

Quote:A security system isn't of much use when some maniac is beating down your front door with an axe - with the intent of dismembering you.

But a gun would sure be handy.

I admit that I fixated on it, because it was a bloody stupid thing for you to say.  You want to own guns, fine.  You want to argue in support of gun rights, I'm fine with that as well.  But you're not doing your side any favours by bringing up an outrageously unlikely scenario to make your point.

Yes, I agree that getting killed by a cop is unlikely for anyone.  But - spin it however you like, it won't make it any less true - a black person is more likely to be killed by a cop than is a white person.

I'm a liberal, so I'm unlikely to be enamoured with any other mythology, now am I?

It's not as " bloody stupid thing to say"  - It's a hypothetical situation. You can change " axe" for " hammer", " lead pipe", "Your mother's dildo" or whatever you like. It's not important.

You just chose to make an issue of it to avoid the point -

a gun is a real fucking handy thing to have if someone is attacking you....

lol, then you should have said that to begin with.  Hyperbole makes you less likely to be taken seriously.

That being said, if anyone ever attacks you with my mum's dildo, you have my blessing to shoot them.  Between the eyes.  Twice.
