China is communist in the same way as Britain is still a monarchy. China is far from being typical American notion of what “communist” means as Britain is far from being an absolutist-divine-right-of-king kind of monarchy.

Their economic model is certainly some kind of Capitalism, AFAIK, but still with central planning. I don't think China's government is the same as the Communism of Russia and definitely not the same as North Korea. I haven't paid much attention to how much of China's government is true to the Communism of Marx, IDK that much of their government.

So We might have better luck betting on plate tectonics hurrying up and put an ocean between the US and Mexico.

Shh. Don't give the man any ideas. If the plates do shift, he might see it as answered prayer.

China isn't Communist? China is state capitalist and as of late is beginning to look like a qusi monarchy

Too my knowledge not a single of the big three have adhereds to Marx
North Korea has a monarchy in all but name something Communism opposes as a ideal communist state rejects artificial hierarchies
The Soviet Union became a militant ultra hierarchical junta something Communism rejects as a ideal communist state rejects artificial hierarchies
And in China the government controlling everything is also not Marxist as it's simply trading the capitalist boss for the government boss

To be honest you are probably watch left slanted news who go out and find left slanted stories like how the chinese want to be just like you.
In truth the majority of china is happy where they are at otherwise the people would have cast off this government by now. most of them have been condition from a very young age to see the world differently. most of your views a self centered meaning you view the individual first. your happiness your rights to ... Where most chinese people are taught the people come first the duty and honor of the family and then the individual. Now as foreign as putting your life in state's hands... meaning marring someone who the state approves of first then in ok with your family or having the state tell you ow many children to have or what sex they can be is un appealing to you it is equally unappealing to have such reckless disregard for your community family and society to most of them. why? because your idea of freedom breeds things they wholesale refuse to allow into their culture/lives.
It is simply a different way of life. One built on the necessity of feeding 4 or 5 billion people. in a country made mostly of mountains who take great pride in who they are and who they where..

The above is a boilerplate description of elements in any culture in all of history and time, including, of course, our own. The wholesale rejection through incindiary comparisons to breeding is very prominent today, in the US, isn't it? OFC it;s being offered by an american, and a supporter of that type of ideology, so IDK if the similarity in this specific case has anything to do with china, but it has a long global history and it's hard not to draw a parallel regarding the general trend.
