A postscript to "what happened to me"

I've met Rob outside of the forum (he lives in the same town as I do). He is really nice. We're trying to arrange to meet up again. I'm going to try and ignore the politics and see it as a fun afternoon out.

A big problem I see is the "filter bubbles" that exist on the WWW; people are only showed content the algorithms think they will already like. People's views are not challenged as a result, because they become surrounded by content and people who share their views. An easy thing people can do is to switch search engines and stop using Google. I use DuckDuckGo myself, as I know it's not tracking my searches and everyone gets the same results when they search using a term.

Give him a hug for me. (I think he needs one, but I'm across the Atlantic, so, no can do.) I want to say pot brownies might be a good idea too... but there's potential for paranoia there so I'm not 100% on that being a good idea. 12 year old scotch-- that's a good substitute. Bring that. But really, unless it's weird or something... give him the hug. I think that's what would help the most. (We love you, Rob!)

Righto. My only contention is his latest condescending attitude regarding being replied to in his threads, that is what's weird. The forum is a back and forth between several people. If he cared not about discussion, a blog would be an apropos venue to post whatever ideology he is afraid to expose. Ultimately, it is just lack of civility towards all other forum members, to assume us too dumb to scrutinize his stuff.

He must be hurting to do this. Pay him an ice tea and put it in my tab, a hug would be weird. I only hug my dad.

Recently a guy who posted on the old [S]inking Atheist forum died. His friends are eulogizing him as kind and generous. And to them, he was. He also spent a lot of time on that forum bullying people and typing the most hurtful things he could think of. I was referring to Belaqua as the person slandering a dead person . In response to the question what was going on ? I have been calling  out Belaqua on this throughout the thread and I doubt he was talking  about Rob .
