This thread was made for no other reason than to get your panties twisted into a sheepshank......

It COULD'T be for the enjoyment of other like minded people -- because that wouldn't  fit up that tight ass of yours...

Typical twat logic.

And on a more positive note - we are seeing more deer here than a friggin petting zoo.

Opening day is going to be busy.

You are such an incredible, fucking asshole. Let me lay it out as dispassionately as I can:

1. You are correct when you say that a shopper of meat in a grocery store is as complicate in an animal's death as the bastard that pulls the trigger. No argument there.

2. You seem to have little awareness or acknowledgement that there are people out there that do not grocery shop for meat. Some are vegetarians and some are vegans.

3. There are some people who are not strict vegetarians and certainly not vegans but nonetheless restrict their meat intake because it is healthier, more eco-friendly and more moral. It is a fact that human physiology does better from consuming a small amount of meat than none at all. So there is some small amount of self-preservation issue there. But we do best on a mostly vegetable diet.

4. The biggest issue here is that you obviously don't go out and kill defenseless animals for sustenance. You do it because you love it. That makes you a depraved, defective unit. You embody the worst elements that evolution gave us. You derive joy and pleasure from killing. You are a human piece of shit.

Another way to look at it is that herd management via hunting keeps animal populations from over-growing their food sources.  Personally, I think it's more humane if OLB goes out and shoots a deer in the head than for that deer to starve to death.

Like it or not, there are real, legitimate benefits to hunting.

Predators keep the herds in check. Now that there's only one predator around we have to take up the slack.

There' s no Old Age Home or Medicare for old deer.

Just slow starvation or freezing in winter.

Or an efficient predator.

I know which I would pick.

There's no need to justify the killing of animals. We partake in killing animals because we enjoy the meat and don't want to go vegan (and we generally need some animal meat to function well in life). The reason we kill animals is for practical reasons (I don't think we can justify the morality of doing so).

And over-population screws up the whole ecology. There were no new aspens growing in Yellowstone from 1927, when the last wolf there was killed, until 1997, when wolves were re-introduced. The animals lounged by the water holes, churning up the banks and causing the streams to silt up. Prey animals would normally be afraid to hang around a water source, the hunters know they have to come there. But humans screwed that up.

We have a river here that is infested of some plants that live on the surface (can't remember the name of the species). They are killing fish and other lifeforms that are deprived of oxygen in the water. Perhaps vegans could help on that regard.

As to hunting, if you eat your game you're ok in my book. Here, there are rules and most of the hunters respect what we call "defesum", id est, the period of time for the game to repopulate, to avoid excess hunting.

Those rules are generally laws in the US. Otherwise there would be a scarcity of target animals.
