Before he went country-

If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever heard any jazz that I have liked.

I’m not much of a fan of country music but I have to admit a liking for Kenny Rogers.

The only thing to like about Kenny Rogers is that he looks like a Santa Claus who would leave weed in your stocking.

Nah.

Kenny’s one of the few exceptions to my general dislike of that genre.

By the way...

Oasis sucks.

So do Nirvana.

I do like some alternative rock but I have always hated Nirvana.  I don't understand how they, and Cobain, are presented as being among the best.  There are a few artists/bands/songs that I will turn off rather than invest 3 minutes of my life...Nirvana is on that list, with the likes of George Thorogood, Jimmy Buffett, and the song 'Freebird'.

I get the strangest looks from people, “how can you not like Nirvana?”

“Easily?”

And I agree about George Thoroughgood, too. Especially whatever the hell the song is called about drinking and screwing over his landlady.

Here is the place to put your arguments for and against jazz.

But let’s not limit it to jazz.  Feel free to include any music genre that you hate.

I suppose we can also include hip-hop /©rap and the likes, but I don’t consider it to be “music”.

Ummmm....it's too close to jizz? Naughty

RE: Arguments against Jazz
For me music is there to make you feel something, Jazz makes me feel nothing.  I've been around musicians a fair amount in my life so I've heard most of the arguments for it, the syncopation, the talented players, all that stuff, I still think it sounds dull and does nothing to me.

Music that some people look down on like UK grime (it's a bit like rap or trap music) makes me feel a surge of adrenaline, I love some of that.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.
