The idea that the remains were male/female, they've found many, was premised on the fact that they were buried together in the other holes as well.
In the sense that holding hands in the grave doesn't prove gayness..well..yeah, ofc. Turns out that holding hands in the grave doesnt prove hetero couple, either. This is a story about how the underlying assumptions important to the categorization and study of human remains, was wrong. -I'd add that this shouldn't surprise us. 1.5k ago is well within the 50k year window since full modernity. Recognizably human ambiguity, lol. Maybe they were just hunting buddies.......
