Splitting of the Moon

Splitting of the Moon
Really, how can Muslims believe such nonsense that Mohammed split the Moon? Shouldn't that be the evidence that Quran is just a book of lies?

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

There are people alive today that believe the world is flat. People will believe anything if it's reinforced long enough.

How is that more nonsensical than jesus walking on water?

Which holy book is in want of passages that can constitute evidence of its own fraudulence?

Spitting on the moon would be more impressive.

I guess Jeebus walking on water is same in a way that it's impossible, but it's a small scale miracle compared to splitting the Moon which everyone in the world on the night side would see.

RE: Splitting of the Moon
The moon was split and God was right.

Quote:What is most widely accepted today is the giant-impact theory. It proposes that the Moon formed during a collision between the Earth and another small planet, about the size of Mars. The debris from this impact collected in an orbit around Earth to form the Moon.
https://www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/how-did-t...-form.html

The moon was a piece of earth that was cracked; forming the moon as we see it today.
Judgement day is near and close since that day.

So judgement day is coming and near since that day; we see it as a far date, but in cosmology billions of years are an instant mere seconds.

Who spoke about Mohammed's time? the verse speaks about the advent of judgement day:

Quote:Sura 54, The Quran:

Sahih International
(1) The Hour has come near, and the moon has split.

Now I know that my words stirred quite an anger in the insides of foes.

Mmm maybe it's the effect of the truth? or perhaps it's the grip of logic trapping every cell in your body; creating a conflict between your consciousness and your inner ego? That ego that makes rejecting whatever a theist says; even if it was the truth?

The moon was split dear Anomalocaris. Watch out from saying otherwise because scientists will laugh at you while drinking their morning coffee.

Here's another link (from wikipedia) so the laughter's sound may increase:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origin_of_the_Moon

Quote:The origin of the Moon is usually explained by a Mars-sized body striking the Earth, making a debris ring that eventually collected into a single natural satellite, the Moon,

Or, in other words:

Quote:Sura 54, The Quran:

Sahih International
(1) The Hour has come near, and the moon has split.
