Is eating hunted meat ethical?
RE: Is eating hunted meat ethical?
@Tom Fearnley So I get that you won't eat the typical meat animals for ethical reasons. Is there a non plant protein source that you would eat? Ones with lesser evolved brains since that seems to be at least part of your morality/ethics.

Insects?

Worms?

Sea Slugs?
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

I don't argue that animals have what I call "The Right To Live" like humans do. We can choose when they die, there's nothing wrong with that. I'm just concerned about their suffering.

Crystal clear.

Most people are, to a point. Something Quill mentiuoned that deserves repeating, here, is that people suffer too. So, your average mom or dad trying to cram food down their mewling heathens throats might not particularly care for how pigs or chickens are treated, but that matters less to them than the suffering of their own young.

The livestock probably think much the same, insomuch as they think about anything, lol. Even plants respond to being eaten. They're just waiting for you to die.

brewer I'm actually considering eating meat again. I think just free range maybe. I still hate the idea of factory. And not everyday. I think it is a consensus that we should eat less meat, no?

Like I said, that's a dilemma for you to solve. No one else can do it for you. You'll have to figure out how much suffering you're willing to inflict in order to reduce or eliminate whatever suffering you feel.

There's no such thing as a free lunch. At least not on this rock.

and it’s not that I don’t care, i care a lot. But when 750$ a month is all that stands between me and a cardboard box in an alley I have bigger problems to deal with.

Been there. FWIW, theres alot that people can do to feel more comfortable with what they eat, and sometimes we can even save money doing it.

Those opportunities are rare, but they may not always be. Better tomorrow and all that.

Could always try your hand at gardening to supplement.
