Yes you did.

Just posting a news article? Yuck. Can we have our own original thoughts if we make a thread, please?

Boru

So, you ignore all my other points after moving the goalposts and now you move them yet again?

Remember, the claim you are making is that I said that people shouldn't link to News threads. NOWHERE did I say that.

Perhaps a visual aid will help:

I'm clearly saying that I think it's ridiculous to simply start "news threads" and by news threads I make it clear that I mean people JUST posting a news article and adding no original thoughts of their own.

Nowhere did I say people shouldn't link to News articles. I have no problem with linking to news articles if the whole thread isn't simply the OP dropping a link and adding nothing original themselves.

Quote:Overall, it seems pretty clear that you dislike the way the forum operates.

I've dealt with all this. You just ignore the points you can't handle and then continue to repeat what I've already dealt with.

Again, I'm not the one whinging when you become extremely hypersensitive over ANY criticism. Just because I complain about a couple of things I dislike doesn't mean that I dislike the whole forum ... how about you try reading what I actually said instead of seeing insinuations that aren't there and getting a massive chip on your shoulder over literally anything you find disagreeable? You're the one who brought a big attitude problem to my introduction thread and if I leave this forum it will be because you're an ignorant dickhead who gets massively huffy over mere differences of opinion.

Boru

I replied to all this but my post didn't appear and when I clicked to the next page where I posted it it says "the specified thread does not exist".

As I can't be bothered to type up my detailed response to you ... I'd like to point out that nowhere in what you quoted did I say that people shouldn't link to News Theads and all I'm taking issue with is people who JUST post a news article and add no original thought of their own. I make it clear that that's what I mean by "news threads" ... if somebody wants to link to a News Article IN ADDITION to offering original content and not simply dropping a link and telling others to discuss it ... then I obviously have no problem with that.

I've made it very clear that just because I offer some constructive criticism doesn't mean that I am unhappy, whinging or dislike the whole website. I've made it clear that just because something is unnecessary doesn't mean it can't be enjoyable. You just keep making false claims ... and if I do leave these forums it will be because you have a massive chip on your shoulder and can't handle anything disagreeable without projecting your own unhappiness onto me ... even on my introduction thread.

Or perhaps I should just put you on ignore because you seem to get triggered by any difference of opinion I have across multiple threads.

Still the same bug of my posts not showing. I wonder if they'll eventually show up.

Very strange ... that one worked but neither of my responses to Boru did.

Anyway, the point is, Boru, you're clearly unhappy with me expressing anything you find disagreeable and nowhere in what you quoted did I say that people shouldn't link to news articles. I made it very clear that I specifically have a problem with "news threads" and by that I go on to explain that I mean people who JUST post a link to news AND add no original thoughts of their own.

Boru appears to have a massive chip on his shoulder to the extent that he takes issue with anything I say across multiple threads, fails to read what I post properly, misrepresents what I post, and loves to just keep insisting that I'm unhappy when he's clearly projecting.

And you've moved the goalposts more than once, Boru. If you're going to respond to one of my posts ... don't just ignore all the times I've demonstrated that you're wrong and move the goalposts to something else.

My analogy was perfectly good. The analogy was that just because X is unnecessary doesn't mean that X can't be enjoyable. For instance, ice cream isn't necessary but that doesn't mean it can't be enjoyable. That analogy was perfectly good but Boru twisted it.

If I do end up leaving the forum it will be because after not being here long  I've already got a moderator following me around across multiple threads and getting all pissed off over anything I say that he doesn't like while telling me that I'm 'unhappy' and 'whinging'.

I guess it doesn't matter what I have to offer if I say anything remotely critical of how a forum is run? Wow, I even took issue with not one but TWO things! I must really hate it here and it's TOTALLY reason for a staff member to get all pissed off! /sarcasm.

Yeah, perhaps this is not the right place for me. In all my years of foruming ... I've never seen such hypersensitivity to criticism on a forum before.

Says the dude that came here demanding seriousness to his convenience. You are the guy that entering a home demands the home owners to remove shoes. It is funny because you made this your high horse since you joined. Be careful to avoid falling from it.

Sorry about that.  Forum bot marked my earlier reply to you as spam, which puts the post and any replies into abeyance until it's acted on.
